🏅 In high school, I was in award-winning state math league, science olympiad, and choir groups. Outside of school I stayed busy volunteering in my community, exploring the outdoors with regular hiking and camping, and earning the rank of Eagle Scout!
🏫 I started my consecutive degrees in physics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in 2009!
✈️ In 2012, I spent a term abroad in Australia applying my learning to aid a non-profit with high speed rail design proposal. I also climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and chilled with kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and devils in Tasmania!
💸 Since 2013, I have raised over $6k for Boston Children’s Hospital through an annual campaign called Extra Life. This began as an annual 24-hour gaming marathon, but I am working on expanding awareness and events (including live-streams and competitions) throughout the year.
🏞️ I love finding mountains to camp on during the summer, snowboard down during the winter, and hike anywhere in between. In 2019, I climbed to Uhuru Peak on Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest point of the tallest freestanding mountain in Africa!
🎦 I defended my dissertation over Zoom in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, which was a first for the WPI Physics Department!
🎸 I play a number of musical instruments including trombone, guitar, bass, mandolin, ukulele, and on rare occasions the ocarina. I currently play bass for alternative rock band called FireHoney!
🍪 I like making my own foods from raw ingredients, learning different recipes, and sharing the results!
📅 I am now in Western MA teaching full-time at Mount Holyoke College!
